Online tools to get things done

Last  december, I wrote about getting things done methodology.   I know some free web apps like Remember The Milk,   RunwayClocking It... There are a lot of other software listed in gtd-br wiki, (in brazilian portuguese). My main requisite is to be able to install the tool at my hosting (I have privacy issues), so I tried to use Taskfreak for some time. I gave up taskfreak because I didn't find it usable enough. I switched to Tracks, and it is much better. I recommend it. I found Clocking It recently, and haven't tried For further information, refer to the LifeHacker blog "Which online GTD app is right for you?". Update: take a look at the Interactive GTD Software Comparison Table. Thanks to Márcio Nilo @ GTD-BR mailing list.

Using tiddlywiki to track my goals

Yesterday, I was thinking of taking notes of all goals I intend to yield in 2009. Today, as soon as I stood up, I started my search. After a few minutes looking at a software list, I decided to use TiddlyWiki, a client-side javascript-based wiki. My problem is that i wanted a server-side version, and found this blog post describing somebody's search of server side versions. Finally, I am using the Experimental wiki, he found. I didn't like much how it stores the content, and that it doesn't store tags. But it suffices by now. Update: Finally, I installed the suggestion of tiddlywiki's creator (in the comments), ccTiddly, and "officially deprecated" the tikiwiki installation I used to use.

Getting things done

Getting-things-done (GTD) is a methodology created by David Allen that transforms personal overwhelm and overload into an integrated system of stress-free productivity. I found this methodology some weeks ago, and since then, I've been trying to apply it. I haven't being much successful in that, maybe because I didn't get the 'perfect tool' yet. I did the  GTD-IQ test, and my scores are low (by now).
